Zaid J. Shaikh

Zaid J. Shaikh is a Law Clerk working directly under Julien D. Guerard, Chair of DRG's Transactional Group. He is integrated into substantive transactional matters across the firm's corporate, financing and real estate engagements.

Zaid's work includes legal research, due diligence, transaction documentation, governance matters, commercial financing and real estate transactions. He also participates in contested matters where real-time research or analysis can assist the attorneys handling the dispute, giving him early exposure to both how transactions are structured and how those relationships can later become contested.

Before joining DRG, Zaid interned with the in-house legal and compliance team at Camden National Bank and served as a summer intern with the Maine Senate. Through Maine Law's Business & Law Clinic, he represented small businesses and nonprofits in entity formation, governance documents and commercial contract matters.

Zaid graduated from the University of Maine School of Law in 2026, earning the Business and Transactional Law Certificate with distinction, and sat for the July 2026 Maine Bar Examination.
